Audiobooks
In addition to the library's regular collection of books and periodicals, the following audio material may be checked out:
- [2 weeks] Audiobooks, both abridged and unabridged; music CDs.
- [2 weeks] The Mohawk Valley Library System and its member libraries have begun to purchase and circulate PLAYAWAYS.
- A PLAYAWAY is a self-playing digital audio book that comes pre-loaded on a small storage device. Each PLAYAWAY can hold content that ranges from 6 to 24 hours of play time, and circulates like any audio book for 2 weeks. The PLAYAWAY is controlled by 8 buttons that allow the listener to turn the device on and off, control the speed of the narrator's voice, and digitally bookmark up to 50 spots. A standard AAA battery (provided with each 'book') and headphones are necessary for use. There are also methods by which the PLAYAWAY can be heard through your car's speakers.

- using your Northville Library card # to create your NetLibrary account
- downloading the eAudiobooks to your personal computer
- transferring the eAudiobook files to your portable music player.
Once you have completed the registration and have selected your User Name and Password, you can login directly to the Net Library website to view and download the available eAudiobooks.
Note: Books to be transferred to your portable music player should be selected from the eAudiobooks list, not the eBooks list.
Some of the popular media players do not meet all the NetLibrary requirements so be sure to check the "Tested Players".
